Changing Ports on Linux

The following steps will walk you through changing ports on Linux. This can help with a variety of issues including connectivity, speed, and sites not loading. Use the instructions below to change the ports on your VPN connection:

  • Click system settings > Click Network > Click the VPN (will be named what you named it) > Click on Configure

A window with setting will show up, please click the VPN tab (beside IPv4 Settings) > Click advanced > Check the "Use custom gateway port" box  and try the below ports, one-by-one.

  • If you're using AES-128-CBC, please use the following settings: UDP 1198
  • If you're using AES-256-CBC, please use the following settings:  UDP 1197

If that does not work, check the box to enable a TCP connection, and use the following ports:

  • If you're using AES-128-CBC, please use the following settings: TCP 502
  • If you're using AES-256-CBC, please use the following settings: TCP 501
