Important Note: Private Internet Access (PIA) cannot provide direct support for FlashRouter devices. You must contact FlashRouters directly for support. This guide is for informational purposes only.
The FlashRouter Privacy application works with PIA and adds additional features to DD-WRT, including:
- Global kill switch
- Policy-Based Routing (bypass list)
- Server switching
The FR Privacy App is officially supported on the following router models:
- Netgear: R6300v2, R6400v2, R7000, R7000P, R7800, R8000, R9000
- Linksys: WRT1200AC, WRT1900ACv1, WRT1900ACv2, WRT3200ACM, WRT32X
- ASUS: RT-AC56U, RT-AC66U, RT-AC68U B1, RT-AC87U, RT-AC3100, RT-AC5300, RT-N16
The application may also work on other DD-WRT-compatible routers with more than 16 MB of flash memory and DD-WRT build 34929 or later.
The application updates automatically when you reboot your router. Update notifications also appear inside the interface with an update option.
If you purchased a preconfigured FlashRouter, you can skip to Step 3.
Note: PIA does not support router flashing. If you want a plug-and-play option, refer to FlashRouters’ preconfigured PIA DD-WRT routers.
