Step 1: Disconnect
Ensure that you are disconnected from the VPN. You can do so by right-clicking the application icon in the system tray or menu bar and clicking Disconnect, or by clicking the power button within the application controls.
Step 2: Open Settings
Once disconnected, the PIA tray icon will appear as a lock with a slash through it. After disconnecting, open the Settings window by right-clicking the application icon in the system tray, or by clicking the three vertical dots located at the top right-hand side of the application controls and clicking Settings.
Step 3: Help Tab
Navigate to the Help Tab within the Settings Menu. Under this Tab, click Uninstall Private Internet Access.
Step 4: Finish
To complete the uninstallation, you will then be prompted by the Terminal requesting to proceed with the uninstallation of the application. You will need to type y and hit Enter. The Terminal might also ask you to enter your sudo/root password:
After entering your sudo password, the Terminal will proceed and uninstall the application. Once completed, press any key to continue and close the terminal window.
