Step 1: Disconnect from the VPN
Make sure you’re disconnected from the VPN. You can disconnect by clicking the Power button in the app.
Step 2: Open Settings
After you disconnect, the PIA tray icon appears as a lock with a slash through it. In the app, select the three vertical dots (⋮), then select Settings.
Step 3: Open the Help Tab
Go to the Help tab in the Settings menu. Select Uninstall Private Internet Access.
Step 4: Finish the Uninstall Process
A Terminal window opens and asks you to confirm the uninstall process. Type y, then press Enter. If prompted, enter your root or sudo password, then press Enter.
After you enter your password, Terminal removes the PIA app. When the process finishes, press any key to continue and close the Terminal window.
The PIA app is now uninstalled. If you want to reinstall the app, follow the Linux installation guide.
