Android - Change DNS (Android Wi-Fi Settings)
There are two Ways to change the DNS settings on Android Devices.
- Within the PIA App
- Within the Android Device Settings
Change DNS With PIA App
To Change the DNS within the PIA application, please follow the below instructions:
Step 1: App
Open the Application
Step 2: Settings
Go to the application Settings by selecting the three horizontal lines in the top left Corner
The main menu settings should now display, tap Settings
Step 3: Change DNS
Once in the Settings menu, locate the Network option.
Once in the Network section, DNS will be shown at the top of the menu. There the application will be automatically connected to PIA’s DNS. Tap DNS.
Step 4: DNS Options
Here you will be able to ensure that PIA DNS is used or you can select Custom DNS.
Step 5: Warning
The application will provide you with a warning prompt notifying you that use of a non PIA DNS could expose your DNS traffic. If you are ok with this select OK
Step 6: Custom DNS
Here you will be able to enter your desired DNS address within the Primary and Secondary DNS options. Select SAVE
Step 7: Reconnect
Once all has been saved it may be best to disconnect and then reconnect to the VPN.
