The release of Apple's M1 chips is another important step in the evolution of chips, in small packages, that bring significant power to laptops and other portable devices. Unfortunately, ARM processors, in general, can result in problematic functionality for traditionally developed applications. Fortunately, Rosetta was created to bridge the gap for applications developed for Intel-based Apple devices. Rosetta can be used to run PIA and other applications which were originally built to run on Linux based Macs.
You can read more about Rosetta and its functionality by visiting the following links:

In order to manually install Rosetta on your macOS device, you will need to access the terminal and follow the instructions below.
1. Open Spotlight (Magnifying glass - top right hand side of screen)
2. Type 'Terminal' and press enter
3. Enter command "softwareupdate --install-rosetta"
If you experience any issues with the installation process on your devices, you may wish to try alternative methods for using the VPN, such as our Manual Connection Scripts or the OpenVPN Connect application for macOS.
As always, we are available 24/7 via our chat or ticketing system to address any issue you may be experiencing.
