Roku devices do not let you enter DNS settings directly on the device. To use Smart DNS with Roku, configure your router to use your PIA Smart DNS address instead.
Note: Unlike a VPN, Smart DNS does not encrypt your internet traffic or hide your device’s IP address.

Configure Smart DNS on Your Router
Router admin pages vary by brand and model, so you may need to look for similar DNS or network settings on your router.
- Log into your router's admin page, typically by entering its IP address into a web browser. Common addresses include 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1, but yours may be different.
- Find the DNS settings in your router's admin interface.
- Enter the Smart DNS address you noted earlier as the primary DNS address. If your router has a secondary DNS field, leave it blank.
- Save the changes.
- Restart your router, then your Roku, so the new settings take effect.
