To pay for a Private Internet Access (PIA) subscription with Bitcoin, you must have a locally installed Bitcoin wallet extension on your system. You can find BitPay-compatible wallet extensions on the BitPay website.
Step 1: Select Your Plan
Visit PIA’s pricing page and click Select Plan under your preferred plan.
Step 2: Choose Cryptocurrency and Enter Your Email
Choose cryptocurrency as a method of payment.
Then, enter your email address. Private Internet Access (PIA) sends your account login credentials to this address.
Step 3: Log Into Your BitPay account
Log in to your Bitpay account or sign up if you don't have one.
Step 4: Complete the Purchase
Once logged in, select your desired wallet to make the payment.
Note: The invoice is only valid for 15 minutes. You must pay the Bitcoin price listed on the invoice in full before it expires. If the invoice expires, you must return to the pricing page and start the process again to generate a new one.
Troubleshooting Bitcoin Payments
If a Bitcoin payment fails to generate, the payment likely was not submitted using the methods listed above. Manually sending coins to the address on the invoice or using a third-party Bitcoin converter does not complete the payment correctly. These methods can result in multiple small transactions, causing delays or underpayments that lead to failure.
BitPay processes all PIA Bitcoin payments. If a payment does not process successfully, BitPay holds the coins. Because you remain the owner of the Bitcoin, you must contact them at support@bitpay.com to resolve the issue.
