Private Internet Access (PIA) requires that you request all refunds through a support ticket. You can contact Customer Support here or by emailing support@privateinternetaccess.com.
Refund Eligibility and Terms
30-day money-back guarantee: Refund requests are only available within the first 30 days of the last payment per the terms of service.
Apple App Store (iTunes): Users with subscriptions billed as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store do not have access to the PIA 30-day money-back guarantee. Users must request refunds through the App Store, which Apple Support issues at its discretion.
Gift cards: Purchases made using iTunes gift cards, PayGarden, or PIA gift cards are non-refundable.
Processing time: It may take 5–10 business days for funds to reflect in your account once the refund process is complete (or as soon as your payment provider finishes the refund process on their end).
Information Required for Account Verification
To verify the account and expedite the request, include the following information in your refund request:
Email address: Provide the email address you entered during account registration.
PIA order number: Provide the complete order number from your payment confirmation email.
If you do not have the order number, provide the following verification info based on your payment method:
PayPal: Provide the Profile ID or Subscription ID (starting with I- or S-) from your PayPal subscription details. PIA cannot use the Billing ID for verification.
Amazon: Provide the Transaction ID from your Amazon subscription details (starting with P01-).
Google: Provide the Google Order Number (starting with GPA or a long string of digits separated by periods).
Bitcoin: Provide the Bitpay transaction URL. It should look similar to this: "https://bitpay.com/invoice?id=4XRTUsCofUiCnGwpf5PxJf"
Note: This is not the Blockchain URL you received. You may have to contact Bitpay Support (support@bitpay.com) to get the proper, unhashed transaction URL. Please also include the Bitcoin wallet address you would like the refund sent to.
- iOS App/iTunes: PIA cannot provide these account purchases. You must request these refunds through the App Store. Purchases made using iTunes gift cards are non-refundable. See this Apple Knowledge Base article for more information.
