The per app settings feature allows you to specify whether individual apps use or circumvent the VPN. This feature is useful for apps that cannot utilize a VPN connection or those that require the actual network information of your device.
To access this feature, select the three horizontal lines on the top-left of the Private Internet Access (PIA) app.
Configuring App Protection
Select Per App Settings, which is the third option in the menu. This opens a list of all apps on your device. Tap an app to activate or deactivate PIA protection for its traffic.
Green lock icon: Indicates the app is protected by the VPN.
Red lock icon: Indicates the app is circumventing the VPN.
Benefits of Per App Settings
This feature allows you to use apps that require a VPN alongside those that do not, simultaneously. Using Per App Settings removes the need to frequently disconnect and reconnect the VPN to achieve similar results.
