Creating an iOS Widget for PIA

A widget is a small panel you can add to your iPhone or iPad Home Screen for quick access to an app. 

The Private Internet Access (PIA) widget connects to or disconnects from the last server you used. Tapping it opens the app and starts the connection.

How to Create a PIA Widget on iOS

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, then tap Edit in the upper-left corner and tap Add Widget.

  1. Search for PIA VPN and select it.

  1. Swipe to the widget you want, then tap Add Widget:
    • Single Power Button: a power button that connects or disconnects.
    • Connection Details: a power button plus the current protocol, transport, and remote port.

  1. Tap Done, then drag the widget to wherever you want it.

Tapping the widget opens the app, where you can switch servers or change settings.
