How to Change Ports on iOS

If you have trouble connecting to or staying connected to Private Internet Access (PIA) servers, switching to a different port or transport can help. 

These options appear only when Protocol Selection is set to OpenVPN, so set that first. The default protocol may be WireGuard. You only need to keep testing until one combination connects. Once it does, you can stop.

  1. Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner, then tap Settings.

  1. Tap Protocol Selection and choose OpenVPN.

  1. Tap Transport and select UDP.

  1. Tap Remote Port and choose a port, then return to the main screen and try to connect. If it does not connect, choose the next port and try again.

  1. If no UDP port works, set Transport to TCP and repeat step 5 with the TCP ports.
