You can add PIA to your list of widgets on your iOS device. A widget is a small extension used for real time app-specific functionality from the lock screen or home screen when swiping to the right. With PIA added as a widget, you will be able to connect or disconnect to the last server selected.
Step 1:
On the Home screen, press and hold your finger down until you see a small plus+ sign in the upper corner of the screen.
Step 2:
Tap on the plus+ sign to open the Widget menu and search for PIA VPN and tap on PIA VPN in the list.
Step 3:
You will then see two options for widgets to add to your Home screen.
A single power button option that will open the app to connect and disconnect when tapped.
Or an option to have a power button as well as the current connection protocol, socket (automatic, UDP, or TCP, and remote port number).
Step 4:
Once added, you will see the widget(s) on your Home screen and you can move them around the space based on your preferences.
Step 5:
The widget's appearance will change once connected.
When clicking on Connect, the app will automatically be launched and connect to the last server that was used and to verify a successful connection. The app will also open when disconnecting. This is helpful if you would like to make a new server connection or change settings.
