Private Internet Access (PIA) offers browser extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
When enabled, the extensions route supported browser traffic through an HTTPS proxy server. Communication between your browser and PIA uses TLS 1.3.
The browser extensions only affect traffic in Chrome or Firefox. They don’t apply to other apps on your device. You can use them independently or alongside the PIA desktop app. The latter protects your entire device, including traffic from browsers and other apps (like email providers).
The proxy service supports HTTP, HTTPS, and secure WebSocket connections. Plaintext WebSocket connections aren’t supported. They also include browser-level features that help improve privacy and security while you browse.
