Private Internet Access (PIA) may email you for several important reasons. Our automated systems, for example, send subscription renewal notices and password reset emails. The PIA support team may also contact you to reply to your tickets or ask for more information.
These emails typically arrive within a few seconds after leaving our servers, but network traffic can sometimes cause brief delays. If the email you are expecting has still not arrived after several minutes, a technical issue may be blocking delivery.
Why PIA Emails May Fail to Send
Check the following likely causes to identify and solve email issues.
Spam or Junk Filter
Your email provider may have marked the PIA message as spam. To confirm, check your Spam folder for any emails from PIA.
To prevent further messages from being filtered to spam, add a whitelist rule in your inbox settings. Here’s how:
- Click the gear icon at the top of your inbox and select See all settings.
- Open Filters and blocked addresses.
- Click Create a new filter.
- Paste @privateinternetaccess.com into the From field, then click Create filter.
- Select Never send it to Spam and click Create filter.
- Follow the on-screen prompt to confirm.
Blocked PIA Address or Domain
You may have accidentally blocked a PIA address while managing unwanted emails. If so, PIA emails cannot reach your main inbox.
Check your email blocklist and remove any PIA-related addresses or domains:
- Go to Settings > See all settings > Filters and blocked addresses.
- You should see a line saying The following email addresses are blocked. Find your blocklist below.
- Click unblock next to any PIA address.
- Click Unblock again in the pop-up window to confirm.
Email Address Unsubscribed
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking this link removes your email address from our account and billing mailing lists. If you clicked this link by mistake, contact our support team to restart your email delivery.
Incorrect Email Address
The email might go to an invalid destination due to a typo. If you mistyped your email while signing up, contact us to update your account information. Include any purchase details you remember, like your payment method, account creation date, or chosen plan.
If you recently updated your account information, log into your PIA client control panel. Visit your account settings to check and fix your email address, if needed.
