Windows 11: Installing the PIA App

If you're having trouble installing the PIA app using the standard download instructions, follow the steps below.

Note: If you're using Windows 10, the installation process should be very similar.

Download the Installer

  1. Download the latest PIA app for Windows.

  1. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the installer to launch it.

  1. If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), select Yes to allow the installer to make changes to your device.

  1. Wait for the installer to complete the process.

Note: When the installation finishes, the PIA app will launch automatically.

Sign in and Connect to the VPN

To use the PIA app, you must have an active subscription. 

  1. Select Log In.

  1. Enter your PIA username and password and press Log in.

  1. Select the power button to connect to the VPN.

Once connected, the app will display your selected VPN server and connection status.
