For our Support Team to assist users with account or subscription changes, we require account verification.
There are several ways users can verify their account, including:
- PIA Order Number
- Transaction ID
- 3rd Party Order Number
- Merchant Transaction ID
- Confirmation Code or 16-digit License ID
Below are detailed instructions on where to find this information and which payment method each type of verification applies to.
PIA Order Number
For all purchases, users receive a confirmation email containing a transaction invoice. Within this invoice, users can find an 8-digit order number.
Search for the Private Internet Access Payment Received email by entering @privateinternetaccess.com in your inbox. Once located, provide the 8-digit order number found between the purchase date and the payment method used.
If you cannot locate the email or no longer have access to the email account, you can find the invoice in your Client Control Panel (CCP) on the My Account page.
After logging into your CCP:
- Select See billing history under account information.
A page appears showing all past transactions, including:
- Order number
- Payment date
- Payment method
- Details
- Amount paid
- Invoice download option
To verify your account, provide the 8-digit order number listed.
Transaction ID
PayPal Transaction ID
For PayPal purchases, users verify their account using the Transaction ID provided in the PayPal payment confirmation email.
To locate it, check the top-right corner of the email for a string of letters and numbers.
If you cannot find the email:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Select Activity.
- Search for Private Internet Access, Inc.
- Open the transaction and locate the Transaction ID on the right side of the page.
Cryptocurrency Transaction ID / Deposit Address
For cryptocurrency purchases (for example, Bitcoin Cash, Zcash, Litecoin), users must provide:
- Transaction ID
- Deposit address
These are found in the confirmation email. The Transaction ID is a string of letters and numbers, and the deposit address is also a string of letters and numbers.
BitPay Invoice URL
For BitPay purchases, users must provide the Invoice URL.
This URL appears after entering your email during checkout and can also be found in the confirmation email or browser history.
Example:
https://bitpay.com/invoice?id=MTAzjFaPKDGhsUM1UFXtWr
If you cannot locate it, contact support@bitpay.com for assistance.
