If a user connects using the alternative proxy connection (SOCKS5), the application requires a separate generated username and password. These credentials differ from the standard “P” username and password.
To generate SOCKS5 credentials, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Log In to Your CCP
Users must log into the Client Control Panel (CCP) on the My Account page, which can be accessed here, using their account username (p1234567) and password.
Step 2: Locate “SOCKS5 Username and Password”
In the CCP, select the Downloads tab.
Scroll down to the subsection “Generate or re-generate a username and password for use with SOCKS.”
Step 3: Generate Username and Password
Select the Generate button.
When complete, the SOCKS5 username and password appear, with an option to regenerate if needed.
If users cannot generate SOCKS5 credentials, they can contact support. Support can reset the proxy username and password using the Support Tool.
