Cancel Automatic Renewal:
All Private Internet Access (PIA) accounts, with the exception of specific payment methods, are subscription-based. This means your account renews automatically at the end of every billing cycle.
If you do not want automatic payments or only intend to use the application for a set period, you can cancel the automatic renewal at any time. This option is available within your Client Control Panel (CCP), located on the My Account page of the PIA website.
Steps to Cancel Automatic Payments
Step 1: Log in to Your CCP
Log in to the Client Control Panel using your account username (e.g., p1234567) and password.
Step 2: Cancel Subscription
After logging in, select the Subscription Overview tab. Under your Subscription Information, select the three dots to the right of the word Subscription. Select Turn off Auto Renewal to cancel future payments.
Step 3: Verify Cancellation
A new window appears asking you to verify your decision.
Provide a reason: Select your main reason for turning off automatic payments.
Confirm: Select the option to confirm your decision or keep automatic payments active.
Confirmation Screen: A screen appears confirming the change. It includes a note that PIA sends a reminder before the subscription expires.
Once you complete the cancellation, you return to the CCP. A green button labeled Turn on auto-renewal appears below your subscription information, indicating that you successfully canceled future payments. You also receive a confirmation email.
Reactivating Automatic Renewal
You can reactivate your account renewal at any time within the CCP.
Note: If you experience issues with the Turn on auto-renewal option, disable browser extensions and clear your browser cache and cookies. You can also try an alternate browser.
Step 1: Log in to Your CCP
Log in to the Client Control Panel using your account username and password.
Step 2: Resume Subscription
Select the Subscription Overview tab. Below your subscription information, select the green button labeled Turn on auto-renewal.
Once selected, the system updates your account information and provides a confirmation notice and email. Your account then automatically renews on the next billing date.
